Carrots and Sticks – Promoting Transparency and Sustainability

KPMG Sustainability, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) and The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) launched “Carrots and Sticks – Promoting Transparency and Sustainability”, a study on trends in voluntary and mandatory approaches to sustainability reporting. This research reveals that the regulatory landscape has substantially evolved in all parts of the world.

Internal Audit in Portugal

This KPMG’s survey was developed by KPMG in Portugal with the support of Instituto Português de Auditoria Interna (IPAI) and intends to present the evolution of the Internal Audit Function in Portugal face to the study results of 2007 and to the good international practices, considering the internal audit organizational structure, audit plan, audit programs, quality assurance and training plan.

New Accounting Standards in Portugal

The new Portuguese Accounting Standards – SNC (Sistema de Normalização Contabilística) were approved on "Decreto-Lei 158/2009", from the 13th of July 2009, and came into force on the 1st of January 2010.
